Couples Counseling
Individual Counseling | Couples Counseling | Group Counseling
Group counseling offers an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about themselves and about how to interact with others more effectively. A variety of groups are regularly offered by the counseling center and focus on topics such as assertiveness, anger management, weight management, sexual assault prevention, and personal growth.
SCC counselors work to assure that students are assigned to groups that fit them well. Most groups at the SCC generally consist of 4 - 8 students. While some groups last less than five weeks, some last for the duration of the semester. If you are interested in joining a group, you will meet first with an SCC counselor. This ensures that students are placed in groups that are right for them and that everyone in the group is aware of the need for privacy for all members. Counselors also provide information about what will happen in the group and will answer any questions you have about group membership.
