Self Help Resources for Students: Active Minds
Active Minds is a nation-wide student run organization dedicated to the mental health of college students. Over 50 university campuses across the nation participate in Active Minds. Each of these groups works to meet the following goals for their students on their campus:
- Increase awareness of mental health issues;
- Provide information and resources regarding mental health and mental illness;
- Encourage students to seek help as soon as it is needed;
- Serve as liaison between students and the mental health community;
UCO does not currently have an Active Minds group on our campus. However, any student who wishes to talk with someone about opening an Active Minds chapter is encouraged to call the student counseling center and we will work with you to get this established. For more information, visit the Active Minds website.
