Conditional Admission

The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) offers conditional admission to applicants who want to attend UCO after studying at an approved ESL program in Oklahoma. Conditional admission is designed for international students who first language is not English, and who need to find out if they are eligible to study at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Students who have a strong academic background, but lack TOEFL or IELTS requirement may apply for conditional admission to UCO undergraduate program. Conditional admission is available for all undergraduate majors and many graduate majors. It is important to know that all conditional applicants will also need to apply to an approved ESL programs in Oklahoma such as The Language Company-Edmond (TLC) to obtain the SEVIS I-20 and acceptance letter for visa application process.

ESL Program on UCO Campus

The Language Company(TLC)-Edmond is the official and independent English as Second Language (ESL) Program provider on UCO campus. TLC and UCO have the cooperative agreement to facilitate smooth transition of the students from the ESL program to UCO. Students who attend the ESL program at TLC is access to all the facilities available at UCO which includes UCO housing and meal plans, gym, swimming pool and so forth. As such, you will live just like a UCO student when you attend TLC. UCO Institutional TOEFL

UCO Institutional TOEFL Testing program, also known as ITP TOEFL provides convenient, affordable English proficiency tests that can be used for admission into both UCO undergraduate and graduate programs. ITP TOEFL at UCO consists of previously administered TOEFL paper-based tests. It evaluates non-native English speakers' skills in three areas as below:

• Listening Comprehension - measures the ability to understand English, including short and long conversations and short talks or lectures
• Structure and Written Expression - measures the ability to recognize standard written English
• Reading - measures the ability to read and understand short passages at the university level

The ITP TOEFL test at UCO is administered by the Testing Services. In order to register for the test, all test-taker would need to register for the test online at the Testing Services Webpage. Please register early as the seats for each test are very limited.  You may be able to check the scheduled test dates during the registration process.

Application Checklist for Conditional Admission
