Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS/HvA) is a university of applied sciences with several locations across the city of Amsterdam. The university has 7 schools, offering academic programs to a total of 40,000 students. The AUAS/HvA is one of the largest comprehensive universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. One of its largest schools is the School of Economics and Management (SEM).
The SEM offers a wide variety of programs in economics, business studies and related disciplines.founded in 1867, the School of economics and management has approximately 14,000 students, making it one of the largest institutions of its kind in the netherlands. It prides itself on a long history of first-rate business education. The international department houses approximately 2,600 students. In october 2004, the former heS merged with the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, and the School of economics and management became the largest school in this multidisciplinary amsterdam university of applied Sciences. Unlike traditional universities, the auaS/hva has always emphasized the practical application of theoretical knowledge. At Sem, students are trained to take up middle and upper-management positions in organizations in both the private and public sectors. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Business administration degree.
In acknowledgement of the growing importance of the globalization of markets, the school is constantly adapting and developing its business courses to suit new international dimensions and demands. The school is located in the business area of Amsterdam in a modern building next to the ajax football (soccer) stadium, Amsterdam arena. Living and studying in Amsterdam is a unique experience. Brussels, Paris, Madrid, London and Berlin can all be reached within a matter of hours. Many large companies have their headquarters in Amsterdam, including aBn amro, Heineken, Tomtom and Philips. The international exchange students will benefit from the multicultural environment, both within our institute and inthe broader context of the city of Amsterdam. Inholland University of Applied Sciences

Internationalization is one of our core values. In order to develop the quality of all our higher education programs, the university has many strategic partnership agreements with educational institutions both within the Netherlands and abroad. Currently, we have agreements with approximately 250 higher education institutions abroad. Every year around 400 Inholland students go on an exchange to one of these partner institutions. Another 400 international students are warmly welcomed to follow an exchange program at Inholland.
In addition to programs aimed at Dutch native speakers and exchange students, Inholland also offers professional Bachelor degree programs in English in the fields of Business, Marketing, Communication and Media, Music Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Information Technology, Tourism and Leisure. Haarlem is the capital of the province of North-Holland, and has a wonderful historic centre with surprising shops, exceptional museums and excellent restaurants, bars and pubs. It is only a short distance from the trendy beaches of Bloemendaal aan Zee and Zandvoort and it is close by the city of Amsterdam. Haarlem is the historical centre of the tulip bulbgrowing district and bears the nickname ‘Bloemenstad' (Flower City) for this reason. The city of Haarlem organizes many cultural events during the year.
