Charlie Johnson

After more than 20 years as an anchor, reporter and news director in Seattle and Oklahoma City, Charlie joined Central in 2000 as the News Bureau Director, and was named as Executive Director of University Relations in 2007. In 2010, Charlie was named Vice President for University Relations, and is an active member of the President's Cabinet, the Crisis Management Team, the CARE Team, the Budget Task Force and is involved in a number of other university-wide initiatives and committees.

He oversees and supervises all activities and personnel in the University Relations office, serves as the university spokesperson and is directly involved in Central's media relations as well as branding and marketing efforts for the university. Charlie also serves his community as an active member of the Edmond Urban Development Board. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and holds a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications and Journalism.
