Sociology, Gerontology, and Substance Abuse Studies Scholarships
The Judy Leitner Scholarship in Gerontology
Scholarship Mission: To provide a scholarship for a graduate student enrolled in the Master of Arts in Gerontology program.
Value and Duration: The value of the scholarship will be determined by the funds available and will be disbursed in the Fall semester.
Qualifications:
* Must be admitted to the graduate program-Master of Arts in Gerontology
* Must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours
* Must be in good standing with the University with a minimum 3.0 GPA
* Must be an Oklahoma resident
* Must submit a 750 word (approx.) statement describing the rationale for scholarship merit and intent to work in the field of Gerontology; both need and merit will be used in the selection process
Requirements: The recipient will be asked to write a letter of thanks to Ms. Patricia Bolt. This letter must be delivered to the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office, ATTN: Terri Winblad before May 1, 2013.

- Current transcript
- Essay outlining need for scholarship and intent on working in the field

Edmond Senior Community Foundation Scholarship in Gerontology
Scholarship Mission: To provide a scholarship to student who is accepted in the Graduate Program in Gerontology.
Value and Duration: The value of the scholarship is determined by the funds available and will be disbursed in the Fall/Spring semesters.
Qualifications:
* Must be accepted in the Graduate Program in Gerontology
* Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours
* Must be in good academic standing
* Must express intent to work in the field of gerontology
* Financial need will be considered
Requirements: The recipient will be asked to write a letter of thanks to The Edmond Senior Community Foundation and the UCO Foundation. This letter must be delivered to the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office, ATTN: Terri Winblad before May 1, 2013.
