Humanities & Philosophy Scholarships
Outstanding Tutor, Outstanding Academic Achievement in Humanities, Outstanding Academic Achievement in Philosophy
Provided by the Humanities and Philosophy Development Fund
Scholarship Mission: To recognize outstanding students in the above mentioned areas.
Value and Duration: The amounts for these scholarships will be determined by the available funds and will be disbursed in the Fall semester.
Qualifications:
* Must be Departmental majors
* Must meet the standards set by the Humanities and Philosophy Department

- Current transcript and official transcript from all schools attended

Outstanding Academic Achievement in Applied Liberal Arts Award
Scholarship funded by Applied Liberal Arts Program Account
Scholarship Mission: To recognize a student’s outstanding academic achievement in Applied Liberal Arts.
Value and Duration: The amounts for this scholarship will be determined by the available funds and will be disbursed in the Fall semester.
Qualifications:
* Must be a Program major
* Must meet the standards set by the Program under the direction of the Humanities and Philosophy Department
Requirements: The recipient is asked to write a letter of thanks to the scholarship donors Dr. Richard Peters and Mr. Herman Fullgraf. That letter should be delivered to Terri Winblad, Scholarship Coordinator in the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office (LAR 140) and must be received before May 1, 2013.
Scholarship Packet must contain:

- Application
- Resume (if available)
- Current transcript and official transcript from all schools attended

Vivian Lanier Scholarship
Scholarship Mission: To provide a scholarship for a student showing great promise in Humanities in order to aid in their quest for knowledge.
Value and Duration: The amount of scholarship money will be determined by the funds available and will be disbursed in the following academic year.
Qualifications:
* Must be a declared Humanities major
* Must have completed at least 18 hours towards a Humanities degree
* Must provide an academic paper as a writing sample
* Must show great promise in Humanities-GPA considered
* Must have outstanding analytical ability and dedication to the subject matter
* Special consideration will be given to students who have acted as a tutor or who plan on pursuing a teaching career
* Must be a returning UCO student
Requirements: The recipient will be asked to write a letter of thanks to the scholarship donor Mr. Craig Morin. This letter must be delivered to the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office, ATTN: Terri Winblad before May 1, 2013.
Scholarship Packet must contain:

- Application
- Resume (if available)
- Current transcript and official transcript from all schools attended
- Writing sample/academic paper

Alumni and Faculty Scholarship for Philosophy
Scholarship Mission: To provide a scholarship for Philosophy students who demonstrate high academic promise.
Value and Duration: The amount of scholarship money will be determined by the funds available and will be disbursed in the following academic year.
Qualifications:
* Must be a declared Philosophy major
* Must have completed at least 15 credit hours of Philosophy courses
* Philosophy GPA will be primary consideration
* Must be returning to UCO in Fall 2013
Requirements: The recipient will be asked to write a letter of thanks to the Scholarship Donors. This letter must be delivered to the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office, ATTN: Terri Winblad before May 1, 2013.
