Scholarships in Criminal Justice

 

Scholarship Applications for 2014-2015 are Now Closed 

The College of Liberal Arts wants to thank all of our students for applying for the 2014-2015 scholarships and awards. Applications are now being reviewed by committees and all students who applied will be notified via email no later than April 1st.

Scholarship and award recipients are asked to attend the College of Liberal Arts Donor/Student Luncheon from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11th. The student awards will be handed out later that day from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. More information will be provided when students are notified by email.

Judge William and Lucille Myers Scholarship

Scholarship Mission:  To provide scholarship assistance to a student majoring in Criminal Justice who has shown outstanding academic achievement with strong writing skills.
Value and Duration:  The scholarship disburses $100 in the Fall.

Qualifications:  The scholarship is open to any student who has declared Criminal Justice as a major and who meets the following criteria:
* Must be a Criminal Justice major
* Must possess and maintain an outstanding level of academic achievement
* Must display strong writing skills
Requirements:  The recipient must write a letter of thanks to Jerry and Kathryn Williams. This letter must be turned into the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office, ATTN: Terri Winblad

The Sid Brown Excellence in Criminal Justice Award

Scholarship Mission:  To provide a scholarship which rewards a Criminal Justice major who’s research paper is selected by the committee.
 
Value and Duration:  The value of the scholarship will be determined by the funds available and will be disbursed in the Fall semester.
 
Criteria: 
* Must be a Criminal Justice major
* Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher
* Must be a senior or a graduate student in Criminal Justice
* Must submit a research paper with application

Requirements:  The recipient is asked to write a letter of thanks to the scholarship donors.  This letter must be turned in to the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office, ATTN: Lauren B. Belflower and must be received no later than May 1, 2014.
