2011 Faculty and Staff Campaign Kickoff

Central Celebrates the 2011 Faculty and Staff Campaign

Central experienced a first this year with the launch of a university-wide Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign. Led by faculty and staff co-chairs Karen Youngblood and Dr. Luis Montes, the 2011 Faculty and Staff Campaign Kickoff was a great success.

Faculty and staff gathered on Sept. 21 in Plunkett Park ready for an afternoon of celebration. The UCO President's Cabinet served nearly 500 walking tacos and ACM@UCO's very-own Urban Addiction entertained the crowd. Faculty and staff were encouraged to wear their best bronze and blue while enjoying the various games and Always Central photo booth.

Even the rain couldn't chase faculty and staff away as dark clouds moved into the area. Many huddled under tents anxious to hear the names of the lucky door prize recipients. The fellowship that day was contagious.

"In my five years at UCO, I have never enjoyed an event filled with such camaraderie," said Denise Smith, director of Purchasing, Payment Services and Travel at UCO.

"I was overwhelmed by the loyalty and love I have for UCO and my UCO family. To have an event where we can come together from across campus, outside of titles, departments and divisions, is one to be commended."
