Founded in 1890, UCO is Oklahoma's oldest institution of higher learning, and with almost 16,000 students, we are the state's third largest university. Yes, we're rather large, but with classes averaging only 26 students and a 21:1 student/faculty ratio, your professors will even know your name.

With over 200 student organizations, which include social, academic, athletic and community service outlets, we're dedicated to providing you with not only an education, but a means to reach your fullest potential. Located on a 210-acre campus in Edmond, Okla., a northern suburb in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area, you will be within easy reach of all the opportunities a rapidly growing city offers. And, we've been ranked as one of the safest communities in the country**.

We look forward to you becoming a part of the Central family!

*Transformative learning is a holistic process that places students at the center of their own active and reflective learning experience.
**According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's 2007 crime statistics report, Edmond ranks as the 12th safest city in the country among cities with a population of more than 75,000.
