- How do I find out who my advisor is?
As a freshman, you will be assigned a freshman advisor once you are admitted. After that, your advisor will be based on your major. To see a list of advisors by major, click here. - What do I need to bring when I see an advisor?
Copies of any transfer transcripts, your current schedule, and a list of questions you have for your advisor. You might also consider developing a proposed schedule for the following semester for your advisor to review. - How do I change my major?
Fill out the Requests Change of Major / Minor form. - Can I see an advisor without being admitted?
If you are a transfer student and not admitted, we recommend meeting with George Anaya in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions who specializes in assisting new transfer students. You can reach him by calling (405) 974-2266. If you are a new freshman who has not been admitted, please contact The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (405) 974- 3741. Any of our field admissions counselors will be able to assist you. - How do I make an appointment to see an advisor?
Advisement is available by appointment on Mondays-Fridays during the Fall and Spring semesters and can be made 24 hours in advance by calling (405) 974-2342. If you want to be seen during a specific time, please call and plan ahead early, particularly during busy enrollment times. Our Summer hours are Monday-Thursday 8 am to 6 pm and Fridays 8 am to 12 pm. - Do I need to meet with an advisor before every time I enroll?
No. First-time freshmen and transfer students are required to meet with an advisor prior to enrolling for their first semester at UCO. Other students are allowed to enroll without meeting with an advisor. However, you are encouraged to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure satisfactory degree requirement completion. Successful completion of all requirements for graduation is the responsibility of the student. - How do I know if a class transfers?
Our transfer guides can assist you in finding which classes transfer to UCO. If the specific course you are looking for is not listed, please contact your academic advisor. - What do I need to do to transfer a class to UCO?
To transfer a class to UCO, please have an official transcript forwarded to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UCO. When it is received, the admissions staff will work to determine if the course is transferable. You will need to check with your advisor to determine transfer course applicability. It is your responsibility to transfer ALL previous coursework at the college level. - Will these classes transfer to ______?
We are unable to answer questions about our classes transferring to another institution. You need to contact the transferring institution to determine if, and how, they will accept UCO credit. - Is tutoring available on campus?
Yes. Tutoring is available from Tutoring Central which is located in West Hall. Also, many departments have tutoring for their courses. Check with your professor to determine if any tutoring is available for your class.
