Undergraduate Application Types
ACM@UCO STUDENT
You’re considered an ACM@UCO applicant if you want to pursue a Major in Contemporary Music Business, Contemporary Music Performance, or Contemporary Music Production through the Academy of Contemporary Music in Bricktown. If this describes you, be sure to choose “ACM@UCO Bricktown” in your online application.
Be careful to choose the semester you wish to start, as choosing the wrong semester will likely result in delays and a loss of your application fee. For your convenience, the combined application is for both Admissions & Scholarship consideration. Scholarship deadlines and other requirements are strictly enforced. Applications and all required and supplemental audition materials must be received by UCO and ACM@UCO no later than 5 pm, April 1 to be considered for Fall 2013 scholarships. See the scholarship page for additional scholarship opportunities.
A complete video audition must be submitted in addition to this application. Please see Supplemental Audition Materials for details pertaining to your program of interest. Fall 2013 priority deadline for applications is June 15th. All completed first-time freshman applications received by June 15th will be considered for a First-Time Freshman Priority Tuition Waiver.

Academic Requirements
-----20 composite ACT score or 940 Reading and Math combined SAT score (Juniors and Seniors) Only official transcripts will be accepted. Unfortunately, we do not accept faxed or scanned transcripts. Send all documentation to: University of Central Oklahoma
-----2.7 non-weighted, cumulative GPA and a class ranking in the upper 50% of your graduating class (Fall Semester Senior Year or Final Transcript)
-----2.7 non-weighted GPA in the 15-unit high school core curriculum (Final Transcript).
-----First Time Freshman from an unaccredited high school (regional accreditation only) or Home School will have admissions based on ACT/SAT score only.

A complete demo recording submitted on one CD containing the
following:
1. Three (3) tracks of work you produced. This work may be
your own productions or collaborations with other artists.
2. Each track should be preceded by a short 30-second commentary of each
recording (i.e. how you recorded it, what your influences are and what
gear you used).
3. Clearly label and package CD submission with track listings, song titles,
artist and your name.
4. A separate disk or flash drive containing the source files of all produced
works present on the submitted demo recording.

Contemporary Music Performance: Bass and Guitar

1. Play 1 major scale, 1 minor scale, and 1 pentatonic scale at any tempo
with consistent timing. (2 octaves in any key)
2. Play 1 major arpeggio and 1 minor arpeggio at any tempo with consistent
timing. (1 or 2 octaves in any key)
3. Play 1 minute of rhythm in any style or tempo. (Rock, Funk, Reggae, Pop,
etc)
4. Submit 2 performances that best represent your style and abilities. Solo
or with other musicians. You may submit previously recorded material that
features your playing.
5. Record a short narrative explaining why you wish to attend ACM@UCO.

Contemporary Music Performance: Vocals
A complete video audition must be submitted on one flash drive, CD, or DVD (non-returnable) to ACM@UCO. Students are evaluated on the content of their submission NOT the sound quality. This recording must contain the following (please refer to your program of interest): Complete the five steps listed below, recording section 1 through 4 with an audible metronome.. 1. Perform a demo of a song that best represents your voice and style. A If accepted, applicants must complete an in-person pretest to determine Where to send your audition material:

2. Sing one song “a capella”.
3. Match pitch. Play a note on any instrument then sing the note on “Ma”.
Repeat with 10 different notes. (Please sing after the reference note)
4. Sing 1 major scale, 1 minor scale, 1 major arpeggio, and 1 minor
arpeggio. (1 octave in any key)
5. Record a short narrative explaining why you wish to attend ACM@UCO.

Contemporary Music Performance: Drums
A complete video audition must be submitted on one flash drive, CD, or DVD (non-returnable) to ACM@UCO. Students are evaluated on the content of their submission NOT the sound quality. This recording must contain the following (please refer to your program of interest): Complete the four steps listed below, recording section 1 through 3 with an audible metronome. If accepted, applicants must complete an in-person pretest to determine Where to send your audition material:
1. Perform the following rudiments: Single Strokes, Double Strokes,
Paradiddles, and Alternating Flams. Optional Rudiments (in addition to
those above): Double Paradiddle, Flamadiddle, 7-Stroke Roll, 9-Stroke
Roll, Flam Tap, or Flam Accent.
2. Perform each of the following styles as a one-minute groove in 4/4 time
with fills every 8 bars: Rock, Funk, and Shuffle.
3. Submit 2 performances that best represent your style and abilities. Solo
or with other musicians. You may submit previously recorded material that
features your playing.
4. Record a short narrative explaining why you wish to attend ACM@UCO.
