EP-Physics Program Educational Objectives
Graduates of the Engineering Physics-Physics program will be able to utilize their education at UCO to:
1) Apply fundamental principles in science, mathematics and engineering, allowing them to set objectives, organize resources, and adapt new technologies to solve engineering problems.
2) Continue to learn and develop professionally through their employment and/or advanced studies.
What is Engineering Physics?
Engineering Physics is an interdisciplinary engineering discipline where students gain thorough grounding in applied physics and engineering science so they are able to pursue a chosen technical area (i.e. an engineering discipline or specific applied physics area).
Engineering Physics at UCO?
At University of Central Oklahoma, the engineering physics program is designed in a way to develop a deeper understanding of the engineering fundamentals through a broad physics and mathematics program in an engineering context. Our EP curriculum is a combination of essential, electives as well as various laboratory courses. In addition, the EP program is equipped with hands-on experience with modern computers, lab facilities, and engineering workshop. This enhanced extensive knowledge can easily be integrated with the practical aspects of a conventional engineering discipline.
Engineering Physics - Physics at UCO
This major is designed for those students interested in graduate study in physics. Students may take courses such as analytical mechanics, classical mechanics, electromagnetic fields, quantum mechanics, and photonics. Students in Engineering Physics-Physics have gone on to graduate programs in physics, materials science, and chemical physics.
Application Procedure
You can find information for about applying to UCO at the Office of Prospective Student Services / Scholarships. This site also has information and links to scholarships offered to freshman students.
