Dr. Beverley Cox Endowed Scholarship for Biology

The Dr. Beverley Cox Endowed Scholarship for Biology is given by Cmdr. and Mrs. Craig Morin to honor Dr. Beverley Cox, UCO Biology Professor from 1961-1993. Dr. Cox taught Physiology classes and Cmdr. Morin was one of her students. The scholarship is given to a student with an outstanding academic record (including GPA, university service activities, and student scholarly activities). The recipient of this scholarship must be a major in Biology and must have completed 75 credit hours.

Dr. Margaret W. Hamilton Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Margaret W. Hamilton Endowed Scholarship for Biology was established by the estate of Dr. Margaret Hamilton, UCO Biology Professor, from 1970-1990. Dr. Hamilton taught Botany classes and served for several years as the Health Professions advisor. The scholarship is awarded to a Biology major with an emphasis in Botany. The recipient must have completed at least 60 credit hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Dr. David Hart Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry

The Dr. David Hart Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry was established in honor of Dr. David Hart, former Dean of the College of Mathematics and Science and faculty member emeritus in the Department of Chemistry. He served from 1976-1994.

Dr. Tom and Carolyn Kupiec Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Tom and Carolyn Kupiec Endowed Scholarship is supported by Dr. Tom Kupiec, one of UCO’s Outstanding Former Students, and his wife, Carolyn. The scholarship is awarded to a Chemistry or Forensic Science major. The recipient must be have a minimum GPA of 3.25 for undergraduate or 3.5 for graduate.

Dr. Lee Beasley Pre-Dental Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Lee Beasley Pre-Dental Endowed Scholarship is given by Dr. and Mrs. Lee Beasley. The scholarship is given to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Biology or Chemistry with the intent to continue their education to obtain a dental degree. The recipient must be completing 75 hours with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.

Dr. J. Michael and Kathryn M. Steffen Pre-Dental Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. J. Michael and Kathryn M. Steffen Pre-Dental Endowed Scholarship is given by Dr. J. Michael and Mrs. Kathryn Steffen. The scholarship is given to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Biology or Chemistry with the intent to continue their education to obtain a dental degree. The recipient must be a Junior or Senior status with a minimum GPA of 3.3 or above, a U.S. Citizen and Oklahoma resident, demonstrate financial need and write a 1,000 word essay explaining why applicant is pursuing a career in dentistry.

Joni McClain Pre-Med Endowed Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Biology or Chemistry with the intent to continue their education to obtain a medical degree. The recipient must be an undergraduate with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or above and demonstrate financial need.

Carl Edward Northam Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Biology, Chemistry or Physics with the intent to continue their education to obtain a medical degree. The recipient must be an undergraduate with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or above.

Women of AT&T Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science with the intent to work in the business community. The recipient must be enrolled in 6 hours if working full-time or 12-hours if a full-time student with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above, demonstrate financial need, and attend a Women of AT&T Luncheon.

UCO Foundation Continuing Student Scholarship

The Allison Martin-Pumphrey Leadership Endowed Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a UCO student that is a full-time student, has completed 12 hours at UCO with a cumulative 2.5 GPA, and has made significant contributions to the UCO campus through scholarship and leadership. The Family Scholarship Fund

The scholarship is given to a UCO student that is a full-time undergraduate student with a 2.99 or lower GPA, any major, except Political Science, married with child(ren) and employed part-time, minimum of 20 hours. Ben Odom and Teresa Craig Leadership Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a UCO student that is a full-time undergraduate student with a 3.0 minimum GPA that participates in student organization activities and demonstrates leadership skills. Presidential Partners Awards - John & Eleanor Kirkpatrick

The scholarship is given to a student enrolled in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or 9 graduate hours at UCO, earned a minimum of 12 undergraduate or 9 graduate hours at UCO the fall semester prior to this application with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and has made significant contributions to the UCO campus through scholarship and leadership. The scholarship is given to an Oklahoma resident that is an undergraduate student enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 hours) with a cumulative 3.5 GPA and has completed 30 hours at UCO, 12 hours in your academic major. C. Hubert Gragg Endowed Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a full-time undergraduate student who is classified as a sophomore, junior or senior status with a minimum GPA of 2.5. A letter about yourself regarding your background, what influenced your career choice, and any special circumstances that would make you worthy of receiving a scholarship. 3 C's Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a full-time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0, a nomination letter from a UCO faculty/staff member with one page explanation of how you have demonstrated the 3 C's after completing high school. UCO's 3 C's included: Character - demonstrates honesty; keeps commitments; behaves in a respectful manner; displays trustworthiness; Community - develops good rapport with key elements of the community; promotes citizenship; and Civility - open to other's ideas and opinions; courteous when speaking to others; considerate of the feeligns and thoughts of others; tolerant. 2nd LT. Jered Ewy Endowed Military Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a student pursuing any degree within the University of Central Oklahoma with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and who is currently serving in the military or is a student previously enlisted and honorably or medically discharged (will be required to show proof of enlistment or discharge). This student must be a U.S. Citizen and complete application and provide current transcrip (no web transcripts accepted). Applications are found on the UCO Foundation's website at: www.ucogiving.org. Robert Aldridge Armed Forces Scholarship

The scholarship is given to a fulll-time student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must be active military, a veteran who is honorably or medically discharged, and/or a member of the National Guard. For those that meet the above criteria, priority consideration will be given in order of importance, to:

1) A member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart
2) A student whose education has been interrupted by a call to active duty
3) A student currently serving in the armed forces or the National or Air Guard of Oklahoma
4) If none of the above applies, the scholarship can be given to cadets in the ROTC program.

Samuel Henry Mitchell and Elizabeth P. Mitchell Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry

The Samuel Henry Mitchell and Elizabeth P. Mitchell Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The recipient must be an undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Dr. Verlin Richardson Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry

The Dr. Verlin Richardson Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The recipient must be an undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 2.25.

Dr. Terrill Smith Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Terrill Smith Endowed Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The recipient must be an undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 2.25.

Dr. Larry Westmoreland Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Larry Westmoreland Endowed Scholarship was set up by Dr. Larry and Mrs. Leah Westmoreland to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The recipient must be an undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 2.25.

New Student Recruitment Scholarship for Chemistry

The New Student Recruitment Scholarship for Chemistry was set up to provide scholarship assistance to incoming students, freshman and transfer students, within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The recipient must be an undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Hollister-Boeing Scholarship for Chemistry

The Hollister-Boeing Scholarship for Chemistry was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The Hollister-Boeing Scholarship for Chemistry will award (1) student in the amount of at least $1,000 for one school year. The scholarship will be awarded depending on availability of funds. The recipient must be an undergraduate chemistry student and have a minimum GPA of 3.2, be working towards a Bachelor if Science degree in Chemistry and must be an active member of the UCO Chemistry Club, as defined by faculty sponsor.

Hollister-Boeing Scholarship for Pre-Vet Medicine

The Hollister-Boeing Scholarship for Pre-Vet Medicine was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Chemistry. The Hollister-Boeing Scholarship for Pre-Vet Medicine will award (1) student in the amount of at least $1,425 for the fall semester. The scholarship will be awarded depending on availability of funds. The recipient must be an undergraduate student and have a minimum GPA of 3.0, must have a minimum of two years experience (full or part time at a vet clinic), must have a minimum of one year's experience with a local Humane Society (i.e. Pets and People, ARF, Free to Live, Second Chance, Rocky Spot, etc.) and must be an active member of the UCO Chemistry Club, as defined by faculty sponsor.

John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship

The John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of John T. Beresford by his parents Raphael and Ann Beresford.  Although John never received a degree in Computer Science, he was a self-taught computer programmer and website developer.  Before most of the world became familiar with the information superhighway, John was designing websites.  He was a pioneer in the industry and developed the first website for a newspaper in Oklahoma.  The recipients of the scholarship are considered forward-thinkers and have committed to performing research activities with a faculty mentor.

The scholarship is set-up to provide scholarship assistance to students within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Computer Science. The student must be an undergraduate enrolled full time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above with two letters of faculty reference and support. The recipient of this scholarship is expected to conduct undergraduate research activities with a faculty mentor.

Jan Douglas Endowed Scholarship for Computer Science

The Jan Douglas Memorial Scholarship for Computer Science was established in memory of a gracious and beloved Central staff member in the Office of Information Technology.  Jan served the university for over twenty years and had a love for her work and the people she worked with, especially students.

The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to students within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Computer Science. The recipient must have completed at least 60 hours of credit with a minimum 2.5 GPA, provide a personal statement outlining career goals, expect to graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma, and be in need of financial assistance.

Beulah Richard Fetterman Physics Scholarship

The Beulah Richard Fetterman Physics Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Engineering and Physics. The recipient must be an undergraduate student.

Dr. Ron Miller Endowed Scholarship for Engineering and Physics

The Dr. Ron Miller Endowed Scholarship for Engineering and Physics was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Engineering and Physics. The recipient must be an undergraduate student.

Aerospace Alumni Endowed Scholarship

The Aerospace Alumni Endowed Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Engineering and Physics who plan a career in aerospace engineering. The recipient must be an undergraduate student.

E.M. Temple Always Central, Forever Champions Endowed Scholarship

The E.M. Temple Always Central, Forever Champions Endowed Scholarship was established by Mark Temple in memory of his grandfather.  Earl Temple with his wife Odessa began the Temple and Sons Funeral Home in 1947 located in Oklahoma City, OK.  Earl believed that his success came from the commitment and service he provided to others.  He was a respected leader in the industry, and shared his compassion, care and integrity with numerous families in Oklahoma.

The E.M. Temple Always Central, Forever Champions Endowed Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Funeral Service. The recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA or above, must be a Junior or Senior status, and write a personal statement outlining career goals.

Dorothea Meagher Award and Scholarship

The Dorothea Meagher Award is presented in memory of emeritus faculty member Dorothea Meagher who served as the department chair for 17 years.  The award was established by a gift from Dorothea Meagher and is cared for by the UCO Foundation.  The award is given to an outstanding student majoring in mathematics.

The Dorothea Meagher Award and Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with a focus in Mathematics Education. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a 2.9 GPA or above, must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester, exhibit financial need and demonstrate an outstanding academic record.

Mathematics and Statistics Department Chair's Scholarship

The Department Chairs' Scholarship is presented to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science who has excelled in his or her program within the mathematics department. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a 2.9 GP or above and must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester.

LaTisha Pollard Coffey Endowed Scholarship for Mathematics and Statistics

The LaTisha Pollard Coffey Scholarship was established by Marceline and Troy Pollard in honor of their daughter LaTisha Pollard Coffey. The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to an undergraduate student within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Mathematics and Statistics.

Margaret Bennett McAlister Endowed Scholarship

The Margaret Bennett McAlister Scholarship was established to honor Margaret McAlister, who was a lifelong educator, a member of the UCO Alumni Association and was named a Distinguished Former Student at Central.

The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with a focus in Mathematics Education. The recipient must be an undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above.

Samuel Henry Mitchell and Elizabeth P. Mitchell Scholarship for Mathematics

The Samuel Henry and Elizabeth Mitchell Scholarship was established in honor of Samuel and Elizabeth Mitchell, early residents of the city of Edmond and lifelong supporters of education.

The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Mathematics. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above, and must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester.

Josephine Plunkett Math Scholarship

Josephine Plunkett taught in the Ponca City Public School System for 43 years.  She inspired numerous students during her years of teaching.  The Josephine Plunkett Endowed Scholarship was funded by Ms. Plunkett’s estate and established in memory of Josephine by Dr. Virginia Peters.

The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with a focus in Mathematics Education. The recipient must be an undergraduate student, Junior or Senior status only, Mathematics Education preparing to teach math in the public school system, have a minimum 3.0 GPA or above, and demonstrate adequate progress towards completion of degree.

Helen Chastain Memorial Scholarship

The Helen Chastain Endowed Scholarship was established in honor of Mrs. Helen Chastain.  Mrs. Chastain served the department as the administrative assistant for 25 years.

The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum 2.9 GPA or above and must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester.

John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship for Applied Mathematics Graduate

The John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of John T. The John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship is presented to a student who is studying Applied Mathematics at the graduate program level with an emphasis in Computer Science. The student must be a graduate student enrolled full time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above with two letters of faculty reference and support and have satisfactory progress in the area of study.. The recipient of this scholarship is expected to conduct undergraduate research activities with a faculty mentor.
