Robert Aldridge Armed Forces Scholarship
The scholarship is given to a fulll-time student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must be active military, a veteran who is honorably or medically discharged, and/or a member of the National Guard. For those that meet the above criteria, priority consideration will be given in order of importance, to: 1) A member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Applications are found on the UCO Foundation's website at: www.ucogiving.org. Click on the Scholarships & Awards link at the top of the home page, then select Applications & Deadlines.
2) A student whose education has been interrupted by a call to active duty
3) A student currently serving in the armed forces or the National or Air Guard of Oklahoma
4) If none of the above applies, the scholarship can be given to cadets in the ROTC program.

John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship

The John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of John T. Beresford by his parents Raphael and Ann Beresford. Although John never received a degree in Computer Science, he was a self-taught computer programmer and website developer. Before most of the world became familiar with the information superhighway, John was designing websites. He was a pioneer in the industry and developed the first website for a newspaper in Oklahoma. The recipients of the scholarship are considered forward-thinkers and have committed to performing research activities with a faculty mentor. The scholarship is set-up to provide scholarship assistance to students within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Computer Science. The student must be an undergraduate enrolled full time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above with two letters of faculty reference and support. The recipient of this scholarship is expected to conduct undergraduate research activities with a faculty mentor.
Jan Douglas Endowed Scholarship for Computer Science
The Jan Douglas Memorial Scholarship for Computer Science was established in memory of a gracious and beloved Central staff member in the Office of Information Technology. Jan served the university for over twenty years and had a love for her work and the people she worked with, especially students. The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to students within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Computer Science. The recipient must have completed at least 60 hours of credit with a minimum 2.5 GPA, provide a personal statement outlining career goals, expect to graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma, and be in need of financial assistance.

E.M. Temple Always Central, Forever Champions Endowed Scholarship
The E.M. Temple Always Central, Forever Champions Endowed Scholarship was established by Mark Temple in memory of his grandfather. Earl Temple with his wife Odessa began the Temple and Sons Funeral Home in 1947 located in Oklahoma City, OK. Earl believed that his success came from the commitment and service he provided to others. He was a respected leader in the industry, and shared his compassion, care and integrity with numerous families in Oklahoma. The E.M. Temple Always Central, Forever Champions Endowed Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Funeral Service. The recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA or above, must be a Junior or Senior status, and write a personal statement outlining career goals.
Dorothea Meagher Award and Scholarship
The Dorothea Meagher Award is presented in memory of emeritus faculty member Dorothea Meagher who served as the department chair for 17 years. The award was established by a gift from Dorothea Meagher and is cared for by the UCO Foundation. The award is given to an outstanding student majoring in mathematics. The Dorothea Meagher Award and Scholarship was set up to provide scholarship assistance to the students within in the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with a focus in Mathematics Education. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a 2.9 GPA or above, must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester, exhibit financial need and demonstrate an outstanding academic record.
Mathematics and Statistics Department Chair's Scholarship
The Department Chairs' Scholarship is presented to a student in the College of Mathematics and Science who has excelled in his or her program within the mathematics department. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a 2.9 GP or above and must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester.
LaTisha Pollard Coffey Endowed Scholarship for Mathematics and Statistics
Margaret Bennett McAlister Endowed Scholarship
The Margaret Bennett McAlister Scholarship was established to honor Margaret McAlister, who was a lifelong educator, a member of the UCO Alumni Association and was named a Distinguished Former Student at Central. The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with a focus in Mathematics Education. The recipient must be an undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above.
Samuel Henry Mitchell and Elizabeth P. Mitchell Scholarship for Mathematics
The Samuel Henry and Elizabeth Mitchell Scholarship was established in honor of Samuel and Elizabeth Mitchell, early residents of the city of Edmond and lifelong supporters of education. The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science majoring in Mathematics. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above, and must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester.
Josephine Plunkett Math Scholarship
Josephine Plunkett taught in the Ponca City Public School System for 43 years. She inspired numerous students during her years of teaching. The Josephine Plunkett Endowed Scholarship was funded by Ms. Plunkett’s estate and established in memory of Josephine by Dr. Virginia Peters. The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with a focus in Mathematics Education. The recipient must be an undergraduate student, Junior or Senior status only, Mathematics Education preparing to teach math in the public school system, have a minimum 3.0 GPA or above, and demonstrate adequate progress towards completion of degree.
Helen Chastain Memorial Scholarship
The Helen Chastain Endowed Scholarship was established in honor of Mrs. Helen Chastain. Mrs. Chastain served the department as the administrative assistant for 25 years. The scholarship was set-up to provide assistance to the students within the College of Mathematics and Science pursuing a degree in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum 2.9 GPA or above and must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester.
John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship for Applied Mathematics Graduate

The John Taylor Beresford Endowed Scholarship is presented to a student who is studying Applied Mathematics at the graduate program level with an emphasis in Computer Science. The student must be a graduate student enrolled full time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above with two letters of faculty reference and support and have satisfactory progress in the area of study.. The recipient of this scholarship is expected to conduct undergraduate research activities with a faculty mentor.
