UCO Symphony Orchestra To Feature Salute To Schumann

The University of Central Oklahoma's School of Music will present their fall UCO Symphony Orchestra concert at 7:30 pm, Oct. 12 in Mitchell Hall Theater.
The concert will include selections from Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 4, as well as Antonín Dvořák's "Slovonic Dances" and "Buckaroo Holiday" from Aaron Copeland's "Rodeo."
"This year is the 200th anniversary of Schumann's birth, and we are very excited to be playing part of one of his major works," said Dr. Ralph Morris, Central School of Music professor and director of the symphony orchestra.
Schumann's Symphony No. 4 is scored for two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, four horns, two trumpets, three trombones, timpani and the usual strings.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for Central faculty and staff and senior
citizens, $4 for Central students and will be available in advance or at the door. For tickets, call (405) 974-3375.
