The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music will present the “Halloween IV: Voice Faculty” concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the UCO Jazz Lab, 100 E. Fifth St. in Edmond.
Barbara Streets, Ph.D., professor of voice, said the annual Halloween concert is one of the most popular in the UCO Faculty Artist Concert Series, a yearlong series showcasing the talents of Central music faculty members.
“Each year the concert gets bigger than the last. It has become quite the event,” Streets said.
The festive evening consists of the voice faculty performing songs and opera arias both solo and in ensembles. The faculty performs in costume, some in theme with the music chosen, other costumes picked just for fun.
“We like to keep our costumes a surprise,” Streets added.
Audience members are also encouraged to come in costume and participate in a costume contest.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling the UCO School of Music at 405-974-5004. Admission is free for Central students, faculty and staff with UCO ID. Half of the proceeds will go toward Central music scholarships.
