The University of Central Oklahoma's Music Theatre division will present its popular annual holiday musical revue, this year titled "Yule Be Swingin'," at 8 p.m., Dec. 1 - 4 and Dec. 8 - 10 at the UCO Jazz Lab, 100 E. Fifth St. in Edmond.           

"Yule Be Swingin'" will feature a cast of 10 UCO Music Theatre student vocalists accompanied by two vocal/dance ensembles, the "Christmas Belles" and the "Christmas Beaus."  The show includes holiday standards such as "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and "Jingle Bells" as well as some lesser-known, yet fun and spirited, holiday songs.  The students will sing 28 holiday-themed songs in total.           

This is the tenth year that Central has produced this holiday classic, but first year that it has been directed by Shannon Hurleigh, M.F.A., UCO Music Theatre division faculty member.     

"We look forward to the Jazz Lab holiday revue every year because it is a fun and light-hearted show that helps launch us into the holiday season.  It has been a pleasure working with this bright and talented cast and production staff," Hurleigh said.           

Though this is the first time Hurleigh has directed this annual holiday production, she has vast experience in music theatre direction and choreography.  She is currently the Executive Director of Summerstock Productions in Edmond and has directed and choreographed for many collegiate and regional productions throughout the United States including City Rep Theatre in Oklahoma City, UCO's Broadway Tonight and Southern Nazarene University, among others.
