Artwork that captures moments of love, loss and represents feelings and identity through the female form highlight the University of Central Oklahoma Department of Art's Senior Art Exhibit, opening with a free public reception from 6-9 p.m., Nov. 20 at Science Museum Oklahoma, located at 2100 NE 52nd. St. in Oklahoma City.
The work exhibited includes painting, printmaking, mixed media, poetic
text and an installation piece that consists of wooden playground where each
section of the structure signifies a separate period of life.
"This exhibition reflects our student's high achievements at this
culminating point in their education," said Elizabeth Brown, UCO associate professor of art.
In addition, during the opening reception, which will be catered and feature live music, one of the student artists will provide drawing materials to the viewers and then video tape what they choose to create with those materials.
The exhibit will continue through Dec. 19. Admission is free the night of the opening. After the opening, tickets must be purchased for regular museum admission at $10.95 for adults and $8.95 for senior citizens and children.
