The University of Central Oklahoma's Jazz Lab will welcome the band Australian Troubadours featuring special guest Edgar Cruz at 8 p.m. on May 24. The Jazz Lab is located at 100 East 5th Street in Edmond.

UCO Jazz Lab Director Lee Rucker says that this performance is a must-see.  The Australian Troubadours is comprised of three members: Rick Price, Anthony Snape and Pauly Zarb. Price is well known in Australia as one of the most celebrated and soulful voices in contemporary Australian music. Several of Price's recordings were featured in the highly touted Australian film, "December Boys," which starred "Harry Potter's" Daniel Radcliffe.

Snape is an emerging singer-songwriter who landed his first American TV placement with the song "Walking" which was featured on NBC's "The Biggest Loser 5." Zarb's main focus is his one-man band combining keyboards, percussion, kick drum, high hat, guitar, flute, panpipes, tin whistles, accordion, harmonica, didgeridoo and his voice. Zarb was recently invited on the "WoodSong's Old Time Radio Hour" with Michael Johnathon which features a live audience and is internationally syndicated on more than 400 radio stations.

Joining the Australian Troubadours is Oklahoma City guitarist Edgar Cruz. He has been a headliner at the Chet Atkins Festival in Nashville since 1995 and is a staple at most Oklahoma festivals including the Festival of the Arts, the Paseo Arts Festival, Sunfest and Global Oklahoma. Cruz has been named Oklahoma's Top Performing Artist and/or Acoustic Guitarist for more than ten years by the "Oklahoma Gazette" and has received numerous civic acknowledgments for his contributions to various charitable events.

To add to the evening, one audience member will win a prize package that features a V50 Acoustic Spruce top guitar, an electronic tuner, a gig bag, a guitar strap and an accessory pouch from Oklahoma City Music & Sound. This Ibanex IJB 50 Jam Pack Quick Start is valued at $300.

Tickets are $20 and are available at the door, though reservations are highly recommended. To reserve tickets, call (405) 359-7989, ext. 273.
