The University of Central Oklahoma's College of Fine Arts and Design will open the exhibit "Blue Skies," featuring work by alumni as well as current and retired faculty from the art and design departments, with a free reception from 4-6 p.m., April 7 in the Donna Nigh Gallery, located on the fourth floor of Central's Nigh University Center."This group has walked the artist's path: doing what they love, making it an integral part of their lives and sharing their ideas and dreams on canvas and/or photography paper," said Zina Gelona, Central's director of galleries and collections, who is also among the alumni featured in the exhibit.
"It is a real honor to exhibit work alongside fellow alumni and faculty whom I respect as much as I do this group. The work displayed is a true testament to the quality of our art department and its faculty."
The other featured alumni include Mary Hines, BFA '02; Debra Luber-Myers, BFA '01; Clint Stone, BA '99; and Denise Wynia-Wedel, MA '97.
Featured faculty includes Terry Clark, Ph.D., Bob Palmer, Ph.D., Rob Smith, Larry Hefner and Cletus Smith.
The exhibit will continue through May 15.
