The University of Central Oklahoma Broadway Tonight series rings in the new year with Neil Berg's "101 Years of Broadway" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at UCO's Mitchell Hall Theater. The musical revue stars five Broadway performers singing songs from more than a century's worth of hit Broadway musicals.
Some of the music to be performed will include "Tonight," "Don't Rain On My Parade," "Dancing Queen," "Tomorrow," "Memory," "Phantom of the Opera," "Funny Girl," "Babes in Arms," and many more.
"Following the enthusiastic response to last season's hit '100 Years of Broadway,' we decided to bring the show back with a different Broadway cast and song lineup," Broadway Tonight producer Greg White said.
This year's cast includes Rob Evan, Carter Calvert, Danny Zolli, Sandra Joseph, and Mark Kudish who have all appeared in major roles on Broadway including "CATS," "Evita," "The Phantom of the Opera," and "Fiddler on the Roof."
Berg was the composer/lyricist of the hit off-Broadway musical "The Prince and the Pauper," which ran for two years at the Lamb's Theater in New York City, and is currently writing the music for the Broadway-bound musical "Grumpy Old Men," based on the hit film.
Tickets for "101 Years of Broadway" may be purchased by calling UCO's Mitchell Hall Theater box office at (405) 974-3375.
