The University of Central Oklahoma Department of Design will open “Brand New,” an exhibition of brand development projects by Central design students, with a reception from 4-6 p.m., Feb. 21 in the Donna Nigh Exhibit Hall located on the third floor of the UCO Nigh University Center.Attendees can expect to see a wide range of brand development projects, which show the process of creating the visuals consumers learn to associate with a specific company or product. The exhibit offers an opportunity to better understand a graphic designer’s role in the brand development process.
“Brand development is one of the most interesting and challenging projects that graphic designers face as professionals, as branding projects involve a great deal of strategy, planning and research,” said Ruki Ravikumar, M.F.A., chair of the design department.
Many of the projects showcased in this exhibition are 2013 ADDY Award-winning student designs.
The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest competition, attracting more than 50,000 entries every year in the local competitions throughout the nation.
The exhibit will be on display through March 28 and is free and open to the public.
