The University of Central Oklahoma College of Fine Arts and Design will present the UCO Senior Art Exhibit opening from 6 – 8 p.m., Dec. 7 at the Melton Gallery located in the UCO Art and Design building. The exhibit will feature the artistic talents of seven Central art students graduating this December. The exhibit is the last project that the students have to complete to gain their degrees. Their work will include pieces created through various mediums such as sculptural installations, photographic installations, traditional photography, ceramics, and paintings.
The Senior Art Exhibit will be the first student exhibit held in the Melton Gallery since it’s reopening in 2012.
“We are extremely pleased to have a gallery on campus that lends itself as both a resource and an opportunity for the students. This space provides students with exposure to professional artwork and the opportunity to be part of the gallery process themselves,” said Elizabeth Brown, M.F.A., coordinator of the art department’s capstone program.
The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 17 and is free and open to the public.
