The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music faculty will showcase their wide array of talent as a part of the 2011-12 Faculty Artist Concert Series.
The series will open with a classical song performance featuring Rob Glaubitz, DMA, and Sallie Pollack, DMA, at 7:30 p.m., Tues. Aug. 30 at the UCO Jazz Lab. They will perform Robert Schumann's "Dichterliebe," with poetry by Heinrich Heine and Gerald Finzi's "Earth and Air and Rain," with poetry by Thomas Hardy. Glaubitz will be the vocalist and Pollack will accompany him on piano.
The series will include various music styles ranging from jazz to chamber music to original compositions.
Season highlights include performances by the 5th Street Jazz Collective featuring award-winning Central jazz faculty members and "Vital Signs V," an original multi-media performance including musicians, actors, and artists written by Keith White, Ph.D., director of Central's School of Music.
All UCO faculty artist concerts are all at 7:30 p.m. at the UCO Jazz Lab. Tickets are $10 for the general public and free for Central students with a student I.D.
