College of Fine Arts and Design

The Oklahoma Center for Arts Education (OCAE), a division of the University of Central Oklahoma College of Fine Arts and Design, has opened registration for 20 arts camps and workshops to be held during May, June and July in Edmond.           

Among the offerings this year are a variety of music and dance workshops, specialized camps in interior and graphic design, and four week-long drama day camps for children ages 7 – 12 featuring “Dear Edwina, Jr.,” “Seussical the Musical, Jr.,” “High School Musical, Jr.” and “Alice in Wonderland, Jr.”           

“We are really excited about this summer’s camp schedule.  We are offering a wide variety of arts camps for children of all ages and have included a fourth week of our popular drama day camp,” said Ines Burnham, OCAE program director.           

The OCAE summer camps receive support through various grants and sponsorships including the Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Aldridge Foundation, SKY Arts Education Outreach Endowment, Cox Connects Foundation, Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma and the Edmond Arts and Humanities Council.

Camps range in price, but start at $75.  Some camps require an audition for placement before participation is allowed.           

An early bird discount of $25 is available for some camps if registration is completed by April 30.
