"There will be some familiar tunes and maybe some new ones. The audience should enjoy the variety, and it's a chance for the students to show off their jazz chops," said Karl Nelson, UCO director of choral studies.
Among the songs to be performed are "Embraceable You," by George and Ira Gershwin, "In a Mellow Tone" by Duke Ellington and "Penny Lane" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
The 11-member Chamber Swingers and several soloists will be accompanied by a jazz combo, with the head of UCO's jazz studies division, Brian Gorrell, on the piano.
Tickets are $7 and may be purchased by calling the UCO Jazz Lab at (405) 359-7989. The Jazz Lab is located at 100 E. Fifth St. in Edmond.
