Lori Alspaugh, Development Director

Lori Alspaugh is the Development Director for the College of Fine Arts and Design, and she graduated with a degree in Arts Management from the University of Northern Arizona. She has worked in fundraising and marketing ever since. Her background in the arts includes work in theatre, dance, visual and performaing arts at places like the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Los Angeles and the Arizona Opera.
Jim Poe, Director of University Productions

Jim Poe grew up in Midwest City, OK and received a BA in communication with an emphasis on theatre from Central State University in 1977. He honed his skills at the Memphis Opera Theatre in 1974077 as production assistant to the scenic designer, Daniel Sollors. While in Memphis, Mr. Poe received membership in IATSE, the professional stagehand's union. From 1977-79, he worked as production coordinator/stage manager at the Dallas Ballet under the artistic direction of ballet legends George Scabine and Margorie Tallchief. From 1979-81, Mr. Poe was the manager for the Gaslight Dinner Theaters in Oklahoma City and Memphis, TN. From 1981-83, he returned to the opera as technical director of the Conneticut Opera in Hartford, CT with additional duties assigned to the Hartford Ballet and the Hartford Chamber Orchestra. In 1983, he returned to UCO and became the technical director of the Theatre Department. In 1986, he was named as manager of Mitchell Hall.
Anthony Tompkins, Technology Lab Technician

Anthony Tompkins came to CFAD in Spring 2005 as the Technology Lab Technician. He is responsible for all the computer labs as well as maintaining, upgrading and repairing computer equipment within the college. He is a life-long Edmond resident and a UCO graduate with a degree in Journalism. Mr. Tompkins worked at the Edmond Sun for nine years before joining the Dean's Office Staff.
Kimberly Slagle, Administrative Assistant III

Kimberly Slagle began working for CFAD shortly after receiving a degree in business administration from UCO in August 2006 as the Administrative Assitant for the Department of Art. She then joined the Dean's Office staff in March 2007.
Kathleen Scharton, Business Manager

Kathleen has been married to Ron Scharton, a retired Air Force officer for 40 years, and has two children and seven grandchildren.
Alysha Fletcher, Graphic Designer & Communications

Alysha Fletcher began working for CFAD in 2007 as the Graphic Designer/Web Specialist. She designs the majority of graphics material the college generates and is responsbile for updating the web. Alysha received her BS in English from Bethel College in North Newton, KS in Spring 2001 and has worked in print advertising since then.
Zina Gelona, Director of Galleries and Collections

Originally a native of Louisville, KY, Zina Gelona received her BFA with a minor in photography is December 2001 from UCO. In May 2004, she completed her MEd with an emphasis on Art Education from UCO. As an artist specializing in watercolor and photography, Ms. Gelona brings a unique perspective in working with professional and student artists alike in showcasing their work. Her work is exhibited in galleries and festivals throughout in the Southwest. Ms. Gelona has participated in many public art projects including two commissions in May 2004 from the Nature Conservancy for "The Spirit of the Buffalo" Project which honored the Tall Grass Plains in Project in OK. The two commissions were received from the State Commerce Department in association with the Oklahoma Main Street Project and "The Journal Record" (OK's business newspaper).
Kendra Almgren, Donor Gifts Specialist

Kendra Almgren joined UCO in October 2002 where she worked in the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs until 2006 as the the Student Activity Fee Budget Manager. She then moved to Academic Affairs as the Budget Manager and then to Accounting and Contracting until February 2008. She returned to CFAD in July 2009 to work part-time as the Donor Gifts Management Specialist. Ms. Almgren holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Maryland, European Division.
Deborah Baucom, Development Coordinator

Deborah joined the CFAD staff in 2010 as a Development Coordinator, raising funds for projects including ACM@UCO and Broadway Tonight. Ms. Baucom earned a BS in Dance Management and an MBA from Oklahoma City University, where she performed in the American Spirit Dance Company and served in arts management roles on international and regional tours. She has previously worked for arts organizations including the Music Theatre of Wichita and Tulsa Ballet.
Liz Johnson, Manager

Liz Johnson is the Marketing and Communications Manager for the College of Fine Arts and Design. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in psychology in 2003. Following graduation, Liz worked in account management at Callahan Creek Marketing and Communications, an advertising agency in Lawrence, Kansas. Prior to assuming her role at the College of Fine Arts and Design, she served as the Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for the UCO Foundation through August 2011. As a former dancer, Liz is very passionate about the arts and is thrilled to be a part of the College of Fine Arts and Design family.
Angela Morris, Staff Writer

Angela Morris has been the College of Fine Arts and Design Marketing and Promotions Staff Writer since 2012. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and journalism in 2010 and is currently working on her Master of Fine Arts Degree in creative writing at Central. The daughter of two musicians, Angela grew up in the fine arts community both as a pianist and a cellist and loves working in an environment that balances her two passions: writing and the arts.
