The Music Man

Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize- this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.  His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.  One of the most popular musicals to come out of the American theater scene in the last half century, THE MUSIC MAN features a score filled with memorable tunes like “76 Trombones,” “Till there Was You” and “Trouble.” Summerstock is proud to announce that Harold Hill will be played by Oklahoma City’s Lane Fields.  Purchase Tickets 

Anything Goes

Get on board to see this high seas romantic adventure filled with mistaken identities, misbegotten romance and madcap comedy.  This musical farce follows an eclectic group of ocean liner passengers which include an evangelist nightclub singer, society debutante, English gentleman, and wanted gangster Moonface Martin, on their journey from New York to London. Hilarity ensues as destiny gets a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.  This Cole Porter classic features some of musical theatre’s most memorable standards, including “I Get A Kick Out Of You,” “It’s De-lovely,” and of course, “Anything Goes.”Summerstock is proud to feature Edmond native and Oklahoma City Metro area’s Renee Anderson as Reno Sweeney.
