General Information

Malinda Hendricks Green, Ph.D. (University of Oklahoma) joined the Department of Educational Sciences, Foundations & Research with UCO in 1989. Prior to accepting the position with the Central, Dr. Green taught at the University of Oklahoma. Additionally, Green had taught high school in Kansas and Texas as well as serving as a school counselor in Kansas.

Dr. Green’s doctorate was completed in educational psychology and she was granted a License for the Practice of Psychology by the State of Oklahoma in 1994. She teaches the “Capstone Research Experience (Capstone)” for Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Secondary Education (the Program) as well as “Foundations of Educational Research”, “Educational Statistics”, and “Problems in Teaching in the Secondary Schools” through PTE. For twelve years, Green served as Program Coordinator for the M.Ed. in Secondary Education Program.

As of 2011, I have 29 publications in scholarly journals including; Current Psychology, Journal of Affective Reading Education, Journal of Philosophy and History of Education, ,and OATE Journal: the Journal of the Association of Teacher Educators. Additionally, I have articles in the Seventeenth Edition of the Mental Measurement Yearbook. I served six years as the editor of OATE Journal: the Journal of the Association of Teacher Educators, and four years as the editor of the Central Forum. In the area of scholarly presentations, I have presented at the American Educational Research Association (AERA), American Psychological Society, American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, Society of Philosophy and History of Education (SOPHE), Rocky Mountain Educational Research Association (RMERA), and Oklahoma Association of Teacher Educators (OATE).

For the past three years, I have served as the Vice-President for Annual Program with the Consortium of State and Regional Research Associations which provides the Distinguished Paper Sessions of the awarding winning papers from the member associations as part of the Annual Meeting Program of the AERA. I have also served as President of the OATE and as member of the Executive Board. I have been active in the RMERA (25 years) acting as Conference Coordinator/President the four years we met on the campus of Central. I twice received the Hauptman Award for Research from the Joe Jackson Graduate College, and was elected ‘Outstanding Teacher’ form the College of Education by the students in 1990.

As Coordinator of M.Ed. of Secondary Education and director of the Capstone for all the Program’s graduating students, I have taken great pride in the transformative experience the Capstone has become for the students not only making original research contributions to their fields of expertise, but also, going on to present their work at national (AERA, SOPHE), regional (RMERA), and state (OATE) research conferences as well as a dozen having had their work published in peer reviewed journals.
