In the event that your vehicle was impounded by UCO Police there are steps that must be taken before you may get it back. Every time a vehicle is impounded the wrecker that is called is on rotation meaning that we cannot provide you with a standard wrecker service here. You will be informed of the wrecker service that is coming for your vehicle at the time of the impound. Once you are ready to get your vehicle back you will need to come to the UCO Police Services Station located on the west side of the main campus just west of the Education building. You will need to bring the following items with you.
Proof of Ownership
Proof of Insurance
If there is a hold on your vehicle those updated documents must be presented.
If your vehicle was impounded for expired tag you must present the new registration sticker as well as the form confirming the sticker belongs with your vehicle.
If your vehicle was impounded for excessive parking tickets you must show proof that you have paid all the tickets. (TPS will give a form to bring to the station)
If your vehicle was impounded for no insurance you must present proof that you have purchased current insurance for your vehicle.
Once all of the documents have been presented a UCO Officer will complete a vehicle release for your vehicle. You will sign the document and take a copy to the wrecker service listed on the form. You will be required to pay a fee that will be decided by the wrecker service and is not associated with UCO Police.
