The process for applying for employment with UCO Police Services is the same as applying for any other position with the university.

Applications for PATROL OFFICER I are currently being accepted by the department.
Must be 21 years of age at the time of application. Must have no less than sixty
(60) credit hours of college course work (four year degree from an accredited
University or College preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. Must be a citizen of the United States. Must successfully pass a
written examination, review by an oral board, physical examination, polygraph
examination, extensive background investigation, MMPI, and physical agility
test. Must have a valid Driver's License. Must within six months of employment,
complete and thereafter shall maintain in good standing, a diploma of
certification as a Peace Officer from the Council on Law Enforcement Education
and Training. Shall not have been convicted of a serious misdemeanor crime.
Shall not have been convicted of a felony crime. Shall not have been convicted
of a crime involving domestic abuse.
Student Community Service Officer Program (CSO)
In addition to our full-time police staff, UCO Police Services also employs part-time students who work in number of security-related capacities on campus. One of their primary activities is our Campus SafeWalk program (described below). They also assist with facility security, special events and other activities. If you are a student seeking employment on campus and are interested in this type of opportunity we encourage you to go the UCO Employment Services web site to see if there are openings. You can also call Police Services directly for information if you desire. Student CSO's work in a uniformed capacity, but are unarmed. They can be identified by their yellow shirt with appropriate departmental logo and name.
