The Process Improvement department works on campus with every division to keep our continuous improvement efforts moving forward as we manage a growing student body with a tighter budget and the same amount of resources.
Lean was introduced to UCO in 2001. Since then, the Lean initiative has been recognized with numerous presentations at national conferences, as well as awards from NACUBO (2007, 2010, 2011) and SACUBO (2007). Use of Lean has proven effective in illustrating improvement in processes when responding to accreditation teams and governing boards as well.
Lean principles are applied to UCO campus processes in an effort to seek efficient and effective solutions to daily challenges. Most often the Lean project is led by the Process Improvement staff and at other times it is led by individuals within a department. UCO's employees are encouraged to ask "why?" and "how can we do this better?".
