Job Spotlight

Assistant Director Fraternity & Sorority Life

  • Serves as a resource for faculty, staff and as an advocate for students to facilitate cooperation and understanding of the unique characteristics and benefits of the Fraternity and Sorority Life system.
  • Supervises the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life and serves as the Financial Manager on all Fraternity and Sorority Life accounts
  • Designs, implements, and assesses programs that enhance the social and academic effectiveness of the Fraternity and Sorority Life community, Stuent Life and the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Serves as the primary advisor to the National Panhellenic Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Order of Omega and the Fraternity and Sorority Life Council budget committee.
  • Serves as a liaison to the national offices, regional advisors, and faculty/staff sponsors of all Fraternity and Sorority Life chapters.
  • Serves on university wide committees as needed representing the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life
  • Participates/attends national and regional conferences regarding Greek and Student affairs.
  • Develops and coordinates Fraternity and Sorority systems member education programs.
  • Coordinates special projects and training sessions.
  • Some evening and weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Manages supervisors and/or individual contributors and students.
  • May manage a large significantly important process or function without having direct reports
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience Required:
Requires bachelor's degree in related field and 5+ years' experience in discipline with one year of leadership responsibility or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Broad knowledge of the field with proven leadership capabilities.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience Preferred:
Master's degree in counseling or college student personnel. Three to five years of preferred experience in student affairs or related field. Experience in developing and implementing educational, social and cultural programs. Experience in budget management, working with a diverse student and staff population and advising student organizations.
