Carpentry - Christine Groshong (Supervisor)
The Carpentry department is responsible for:
- Maintaining buildings inside and outside
- Small repairs on cement, brick and other veneer on buildings
- Repairing fences and outside walls
- Assisting in maintaining doors and windows
- Maintenance of ceilings and installation of new ceilings
- Assisting in maintaining the sports field
- Repair on some campus furnishings
Custodial

Electrical - Terry French (Supervisor)
The Electrical department is responsible for:
- Maintaining lighting and power sources in E&G buildings
- Maintaining lighting and power sources in Non E&G buildings when needed
- Installing new and additional electrical work, remodeling, etc
- Marking underground electrical lines on campus for OKIE
- Responding to elevator shutdowns, fire/safety, and clock systems
- Performing electrical connections for special events
- Maintaining campus parking lots and sidewalk lighting
- Responding to campus power outages and assisting the electrical utility company when necessary
HVAC Shop - Steven McClelland
The HVAC shop is responsible for:
- Maintaining a variety of heating and air conditioning systems throughout campus, including chillers, boilers, fan coil units, unit heaters and window units
- Maintaining building exhaust systems throughout campus, excluding smoke purge
- Responding to calls relating to heating and air conditioning
Landscaping & Grounds - Vince Boelte (Supervisor)
The Landscape Maintenance department is responsible for:
- Maintaining all campus beds, gardens, hedges, and trees

- Placing campus banners
- Overseeing the mowing contract
- Maintenance and oversight of all ball fields
Motor Pool - Tom Groshong (Supervisor)
Through our continuing comment to be a "green campus", Facilities Management has reduced our fleet and as a result no longer has vehicles to loan. We will continue to have a limited number of golf carts available on a first come, first serve basis. Golf carts can only be used by UCO faculty/staff and may be reserved by submitting a service request.

The UCO Motor Pool provides maintenance support service and repair to the following machinery and equipment on campus.
- All licensed road vehicles including heavy trucks, buses and vans
- All non-licensed heavy and light off-road diesel and electric equipment including backhoes, tractors, forklifts, mowers and golf carts
- Designated University emergency generator units, compressors, and welders, stationary and mobile
- Small gas and electrical equipment including generators, pressure washers, chain saws as well as lifting equipment
The Motor Pool also operates and maintains a fuel site for University owned vehicles and submits required monthly maintenance reports to the State of Oklahoma Department of Central Services.
Paint - Joe Pardi (Supervisor)

The Paint department is responsible for:
- Painting walls, floors, ceilings, handrails, door jambs and fire lanes
- Repairing damages to sheetrock and plaster
- Striping the baseball, soccer and football fields
- Refinishing and staining selected items
- Inspecting campus buildings for damages and scuffed walls
Plumbing - Tom Barmann (Supervisor)
The Plumbing department is responsible for:
- Sewer Services - Unclog and repair piping and fixtures.
- Natural Gas - Repair and maintain piping.
- Domestic Water - Repair or replace piping, sinks, faucets, backflow devices, hydrants and drinking fountains. Repair of replace hot water heaters and circulating pumps.
- Storm Water - Clean and repair piping and drains. Repair or replace sump pumps.
- Irrigation - Maintain and repair piping, rotors, sprays, micro, zones and controls.
- Welding - Repair mild steels, aluminum, stainless steel and cast.
Recycling & Setup - Patrick Foster (Supervisor)
The Setup, Moves, and Recycling department is responsible for:
- Setting up equipment for events held on campus
- Office furniture moves
- Operations of the campus wide recycling program

Recycle Zones - Indoor Pickup Schedule
Supply - Jane Byram (Supervisor)
The Supply department is responsible for:
- Acquiring goods and services in support of the Physical Plant
- Overseeing the Supply warehouse and inventory
- Data entry of on-line requisitions
- Providing estimates and schedules for campus flooring installations
- Preparing bid specifications and obtains quotes for materials in accordance with the Purchasing Department guidelines
- Working with vendors to guarantee supplies/materials availability and competitive pricing
- Overseeing all pest control problems in E&G buildings
Flooring Installations
If for any reason you need to reschedule your flooring installation, please contact Physical Plant as soon as possible so the schedule can be adjusted. Last minute changes can result in your installation being delayed. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Fred Fieth at x2247 or Bill Ewing at x5929 The Physical Plant maintains a pre-set schedule. If you are given a specific time for your move to begin and you are not ready at that time, the installation of your flooring may be delayed by several weeks or months. We will do our best to quickly move items back in after the installation.
Office Moving
The Physical Plant will provide boxes for packing. All boxes will be picked up by the Physical Plant at the end of the move. If boxes are missing, it will be the department's responsibility to pay for the replacement boxes. Please have a Building Captain create a work order and specify how many boxes are needed and where they are to be delivered to and the Landscaping staff will deliver them to you. Remove all items on furniture. Desktops and freestanding shelves should be cleared. This should be done before the Physical Plant staff arrives. Vertical file cabinets do not need to be emptied but horizontal cabinets do. The Physical Plant staff will advise if drawers or file cabinets should be emptied. Items should be boxed if the desk will be unsecured or left overnight before being moved back. Please label all boxes with room numbers that they will be returned to. All computer/printer cables should be disconnected. after your move, you will need to reconnect your computer. All personal items should be removed before Physical Plant staff arrives. If you feel you are unable to pack your area in the time allotted or if you have specific questions or concerns regarding your move, please contact the work order desk at 974-2247.
