Executive Chef Chris Barton

Chef Barton joined UCO in 2007, bringing more than 30 years of culinary experience to Central. His work includes cooking in 5-Star restaurants and hotels in Canada and across the country, exclusive resorts in the Cayman Islands, and was also instrumental with the openings of Opus Steakhouse and Nikz at the Top, both local steakhouse favorites.

Additionally, his resume includes cooking for the Queen of England, working as Executive Chef for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and participating in the Guinness Book of World Records for "Largest Three Course Dinner" serving almost 13,000 meals at once.

Prior to arriving in Oklahoma, he was on site Caterer at Sylvester Stallone's home and for a variety of celebrities, including Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Bill Clinton, and was the on-site caterer in the Cayman Islands for the cast during the filming of "The Firm."

Central Catering offers service geared towards hosting corporate events, conferences, weddings, proms and a variety of tailor-made events for any meeting or special occasion on-site in the university's facilities.

Twenty years ago, Catering Chef Alan Farnan would have never forecasted himself in the food industry. Staring as a Deli Manager at a local grocery store, he was quickly drawn into the culinary field by a local chef. From there, Alan prepped for the most important recipe of his life. Attending a ACF certified chef apprentice program in Dallas and a AOS Culinary Arts degree at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, he started cultivating a great background and the experience needed to succeed.  Having been a Saucier, Cook 3 and a Lead Culinary in three different facilities, Alan moved to Oklahoma to cook in the Sooner State. He was hired in 2009 at UCO as a cook, he quickly proved his travels had given him extensive knowledge and ideas to share with local groups.  After a short tenure as Sous Chef at UCO, he has now settled into the Catering Chef role.

Kaycee graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2007 with Bachelors of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Management. She has more than 11 years of experience in food service. Kaycee has worked for UCO Dining Services for four years and has been the Director of Catering for the last three years.
