Barry Lofton, Director

Mr. Lofton is a graduate of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas where he received a Bachelor
of Science in Health, Physical Education & Recreation Administration and a Master of Science in Social Agency Counseling. He is also a proud alumnus of Northeast High School in Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Lofton's processes extensive experience in higher education in the area of college student personnel. Presently, the Director of TRIO Programs at the University of Central Oklahoma, his responsibilities includes managing and supervising the McNair Scholars Program and the Upward Bound Program. Prior to his position with TRIO Programs, Mr. Lofton served as UCO's Director of Multicultural Student Services for seven years, where he created and implemented numerous cultural and educational programs, facilitated student development, enhanced academic effectiveness, and promoted general success within the university setting for minority students. Mr. Lofton also served as an Assistant Director of Prospective Student Services and Financial Aid Specialist at the University of Oklahoma from 1987-1993. Since 1987, Mr. Lofton has served diligently as a liaison for under-represented students as they strive for academic excellence and equality. His personal and professional affiliations include.
