IRB APPROVAL RENEWAL
According to federal regulations, a research project can only be approved for a maximum of one year.
Once that approval expires, all research activities must stop, including enrollment of new participants, interaction with current participants, and analysis of identifiable data.
The ORC will send two reminder notifications, approximately 60 days and 30 days, before IRB approval expires. At this time, you will need to submit a Continuing Review Form if you would like to continue the project or a Closure Request Form if the research project is complete.
For more information, see UCO IRB Policies.
