About the Educators Administrators' Academy

In its 17th year, the Educational Administrators’ Academy provides leadership development to educational leaders comparable to that offered to many upper level executives in successful organizations. Bringing together Higher Ed, CareerTech and K-12 administrators, the ELA Educational Administrators’ Academy offers the rare opportunity for these education professionals to interact while experiencing a leadership curriculum designed specifically for their needs. The program consists of a four-day summer session and four -1 ½ day sessions. Registrations will be accepted from Higher Ed, CareerTech and K-12 administrators.

Early Bird Registration: $1695, includes meals, lodging, and materials (ends 4/17/2015 at 11:59 PM)

Regular Registration:  $1795, includes meals, lodging, and materials (ends 5/1/2015 at 11:59 PM)

Summer Session: June 8-11, 2015, NCED Conference Center, Norman

The program begins with a summer retreat, June 8-11, 2015. Dr. Shanna Teel, founder and CEO of Dr. Shanna Teel & Company, Inc., a leadership and and talent development consulting firm, facilitates the session on “Essentials for Leadership Excellence”. Participants will receive a 360° multi-rater assessment with analysis; an in-depth analysis of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator; a set of values cards; and 2 books, Life Unlocked, by Srinivasan S. Pillay, MD and The Power of Feedback by Joseph Folkman. The session will also include discussions of John Maxwell’s 5-Levels of leadership, the neuroscience of leadership, how to give and receive feedback, and discussions on managing your health, wellness to maximize quality of life and leadership practices. Participants take away a more complete understanding of how their behavior impacts peers, direct reports, supervisors, and other important key stakeholders.

Session 2: Nov. 3-4, 2015, Managing Conflict, Dr. Christy Vincent, Doubletree Downtown, Tulsa

Session 3: Feb. 2-3, 2016, Legal & Human Resource Issues, TBA, University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond

Session 4: April 5-6, 2016, Leadership Capstone, Dr. Shanna Teel, University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond

 (The follow-up sessions start at 6:00 p.m. the first night and end at 2:30 p.m. the second day.)
