At UCO, a dorm room can become a cozy second home, a walk to class can become a stroll through a botanical garden, a flip of a light switch can be an opportunity to “go green” and a drive down the road a chance to experience the cultural, shopping and athletic offerings of a growing city.
Located on 210-acres in the heart of Edmond, Okla., UCO gives students the opportunity to live on campus in safe, comfortable dorms, just steps away from their classes, the library, student activities and the Wellness Center. Campus living also includes newly renovated dining areas across campus offering delicious and healthy meals—there‘s even a fully licensed Starbucks in the University Center! Plus, students can visit the Student Health Center for physician services or to fill prescriptions.
We also believe that a beautiful, well-kept campus encourages pride in our campus community. That's why we are developing many garden and sculpture areas on campus, with the intent to soon become a certified botanical garden. Along with a “green thumb,” we‘ve also got a “go green” attitude. UCO runs on 100% wind energy, uses compact fluorescent bulbs, has a campus-wide recycling program, creates it‘s own bio-diesel fuel and encourages carpooling and bike riding.
The growing, bustling Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area surrounds UCO, offering access to superior internship/employment opportunities, major cultural destinations (including UCO‘s own Jazz Lab), sporting events that include OKC‘s NBA team the Thunder and so much more.
